Project
This is a free project. It will give you time to reflect on your current knowledge in a meaningful way. You will have time to think about and use the following ideas:

Consider your school. Can you create a database which allows users to enter information into the database that can be used for analysis at a later date via queries. Query results should be presented visually via reports, grouped and otherwise.

You will need to consider how many tables will be required to solve your idea and whther or not any of the tables are related.

Part 1 - Pen and Paper
Consider a scenario where a datbase would be useful. Design the table(s) ie what fields are required. Make it clear what the relationship is between any tables.
Part 2
Design your table(s) and relationships and populate your table(s) with sample data. Create some queries and see if you get expected results.
Part 3
Create other forms which will help users to enter, edit or delete data from the database. These forms should be accessible from your main switchboard form. You can also create reports based on specific queries.
Part 4
To allow for an easily-used database system, create a main switchboard form. Users should see some options and be able to continue to perform a task by selecting a given option eg data entry or view a query-based form.
Grading

A

The student was able produce a realistic relational database design in Part 1.
In Part 2, the student managed to create tables and relationships and populate the database with sample data to show the design worked.
In Part 3, The student created a variety of reports (including grouped reports) based on queries and also forms for data entry. The student may also have researched how to create a form to delete or edit records in the database.
In Part 4, an intuitive switchboard was developed. Users can click buttons or select options in other ways and link to other features of the database eg a data entry form or a specific query view.

B

In Part 2, the student managed to create tables and relationships and populate the database with sample data to show the design worked.
In Part 3, The student created a variety of reports based on queries and also forms for data entry, however the queries are very basic.
In Part 4, a switchboard was developed. Users can click buttons or select options in other ways and link to other features of the database eg a data entry form or a specific query view. The switchboard may not be very intuitive.
