Student Scores

Test scores for students are stored in a computer system.

The information stored is:

  1. Student names
  2. Student scores for 3 tests
    • Test 1 is out of 25 points
    • Test 2 is out of 30 points
    • Test 3 is out of 35 points
  3. The total score for each student

The system will use arrays to store the data.

Part A

Task 1 - setting up the data

Using arrays, design a system to allow data to be entered for 6 students.

Store the name of each student, the three test scores and the total score.

All of the information should be input from the keyboard.

Display each student's information in a meaningful sentence.

Task 2 - validation

Add code to validate the test scores as they are entered for each student. Only numbers in the range entered above should be allowed.

Make sure your validation code has clear messages so that the user knows what to do.

Task 3 - adaptive maintenance

Adapt your program such that the name of the student with the highest score is displayed along with the score.

Decompose the problem

One tip is to make a list of things that your program needs to do before you start coding - you could do this as comments in Python eg

#create an empty array

#create a loop to do something 5 times

#ask the user to input a number in the loop

#append the number to the array in the loop

#calculate statistics in the loop

#display all data and statistics after the loop
